Today I'm leaving to go to Orlando and I'll be there for 2 weeks.

I'm petsitting for this lovely couple and I have to leave in about 30 minutes.

I'm not finished packing and I'm not even dressed.

I've been very excited for this for the past few months because it's 2 weeks that I don't have to be at retail hell and also will still be making money. I'm getting paid a good chunk of money to basically sit around all day since it doesn't take much effort to feed the dogs and cats and also make sure they have water and to let them outside and stuff. I have animals of my own so it's pretty routine to do these things.

I'm still just very anxious, though. Not for any particular reason other than having anxiety, but yeah.

I will post pictures of the babies I'll be watching in a few days or something!

(no subject)

I've been working on this drawing for Pidge/Lance week on Tumblr and I don't draw very often, so I've been trying very hard to do it more to improve and today when I was tweaking the sketch I had and getting the final line art done I realized that I have gotten better at drawing certain parts of the body. People have never been my strong suit, so I've been trying to draw them more to get better and it's just weird to ACTUALLY notice the little improvements I've made. Like, it's been a slow process since I don't draw as often as I'd like to, but I can now pretty much eyeball proportions when sketching and that's something I used to struggle a lot with.

Anyways, since I don't have work tomorrow I wanna start working on the papercraft for it even though it's technically going to be late since it's for today's prompt. Hopefully I manage to find the motivation and concentration to get the whole thing done tomorrow, but we'll see! I'll post it here when it is done. I'm pretty happy with it and there are some things I'm unhappy with about it, but I recently came to the realization that not finishing something just because it's hard isn't going to help with improvement. My papercrafts need improvement just as much as my drawing and if I'm stopping halfway through the process then I won't get anywhere!

Also Pidge and Lance are so hecking cute, wow. I'm not a big romantic shipper of them, but I'm so happy they have their own week because I love them both so much.

Idk, TL;DR it's just very satisfying to realize that you ARE improving, especially when it's something you had started to lose hope of doing

AFO 2017!

I recently went to my first (offical) anime convention and took the opportunity to try out cosplaying! Since I am absolutely in love with the Netflix Voltron reboot, Voltron Ledgendary Defender, I decided to cosplay as Pidge since I love her and I am also a short lil gremlin.

I made the shirt and shoes myself, the shorts I bought from work and the wig and glasses came from Amazon.

It was fun to make the shirt and shoes. I have only sewn one other garment in my life and it was probably 10 years ago when I was in the 7th grade. I made a pair of PJ pants which were A LOT easier than this sweater, but it was still fun and I am still very proud of how it came out even though I will make adjustments before I wear it at the next convention I go to (Holiday Matsuri!!)

Also!! I met Josh Keaton!! He was a really super super nice guy and loves Space Dad jokes and said he liked my cosplay.

He also signed my black lion!

For Holiday Matsuri, I want to do casual Pidge again on the Friday I go and then do Paladin armor Pidge on Saturday and maybe a holiday Pidge (ugly Christmas sweater!!) on Sunday. Pidge, Pidge, Pidge. I want to cosplay others, but I figured it would be fun to do a Pidge weekend! =D

So I'm getting really tired of Tumblr, namely the VLD fandom, and I was thinking to how much I miss LiveJournal and how GREAT fandom used to be on it before it got bought out or w/e happened and Dreamwidth is close enough.

I don't know if there's much of a VLD fandom on here or if I'll stick with DW, but I need to find some other site because Tumblr is becoming bad for my health X__X
